About Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church

Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Mundare is a major historic Ukrainian Catholic parish and Basilian centre about 90 km east of Edmonton. Missionary work among the Ukrainian faithful began with Fr. Platonid Filas in 1902.

The parish church was built in 1910 and consecrated on October 23, 1910 by Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky. The parish is closely tied to the Mundare pilgrimage, the Basilian monastery, Ukrainian cultural life, and generations of community organizations.
