About St. Nicholas Parish

St. Nicholas Parish in Carvel is a Ukrainian Catholic parish built by parishioners in 1930-1931 after land was acquired and donated for the church. The church preserves rural immigrant faith through details such as a hand-carved altar, cemetery land, Julian calendar usage, and lay-led prayer when a priest could visit only a few times a year.

Additional parish history records local cultural traditions, catechism visits, Basilian service until 1948, and three vocations to the priesthood from the parish community.
