About Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish / Парафія св. Покрови

Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish is an Edmonton Ukrainian Catholic parish in the Beverly area with roots reaching back to early Ukrainian Divine Liturgies celebrated there in the 1930s. Parish history records a first wooden church purchased in 1951 and a new brick church built in 1965, later enriched with Ukrainian church design and an iconostasis.

The community is also noted for organized lay life, including the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League and Ukrainian Catholic Brotherhood. Today it continues as a Beverly-area parish with deep local Ukrainian Catholic roots and a history of prayer, service, and community commitment.
