About Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish

Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish at Angle Lake is a rural Ukrainian Catholic parish north of Derwent founded by settlers from western Ukraine. The church was built in 1919 by Andrew Sakowski, and the one-acre cemetery was blessed that same year by Fr. Ksenofont Rozdolsky.

For their first ten years, the faithful attended services at St. George's in Derwent. The parish later received a church visitation from Bishop Basil Ladyka on July 13, 1934, and was served by Basilian Fathers and Eparchial clergy.
