About Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish

Immaculate Conception Parish at Calmar Farms, also known locally as St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, is a rural parish rooted in early Ukrainian settlement from Halychyna. The first services were celebrated in 1907, the first church was built in 1912, and the present church was built in 1938 using material from the older structure.

The parish has served families east and north of Calmar for generations. Its history includes a bell tower beside the church, a nearby parish cemetery, use of the Gregorian calendar from 1945, and service by the Basilian Fathers through the district's later clergy.
