Ascension of Our Lord Parish – Manning

Ascension of Our Lord Parish in Manning grew from land donated in 1951 and the pastoral need to serve Manning, Hotchkiss, North Star, and surrounding communities. The church was built between 1972 and 1977 and consecrated by Bishop Demetrius Greschuk on August 28, 1977.

The parish church was built with a developed basement, hall, and kitchen, and the community numbered 35 members in 1977. Historically, the priest from Grande Prairie came twice a month to serve the faithful, connecting Manning with the wider Peace Country Ukrainian Catholic community.
