Bridge of Hope

An Eparchial initiative helping children in Ukraine with care, support, and hope.

Bridge of Hope is an initiative of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Edmonton created to help children in Ukraine through practical care, steady support, and trusted church partnerships. We work directly with the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate in Lviv, Ukraine, helping connect the generosity of people here with the real needs of children there.

This initiative exists to help vulnerable children receive not only material support, but also care, stability, dignity, and hope for the future.

Children, clergy, and religious sisters gather for a celebration.

A Bridge Between the Eparchy and Children in Need

Bridge of Hope is an Eparchial project dedicated to helping children in Ukraine who are living with poverty, instability, war-related hardship, or a lack of consistent support.

It creates a direct connection between the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Edmonton and the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate in Lviv, who serve children and young people on the ground. Through this partnership, support can be directed where it is most needed and where it can make a real difference in a child's life.

Helping Children With More Than Immediate Need

Children in Ukraine are facing more than one kind of hardship. Some are affected by poverty. Some are living with the effects of war. Some need stable care, better access to food, clothing, education, or medical support. Others need encouragement, belonging, and the kind of steady care that helps them build a future.

Bridge of Hope exists because children need more than short-term relief. They need practical support, trusted care, and the reassurance that they are not forgotten.

Support That Reaches Real Lives

Bridge of Hope helps children through direct support and programs carried out with the Sisters in Lviv.

This support may include:

  • food and daily necessities
  • basic clothing
  • education support
  • medical care
  • emotional encouragement and personal care
  • stable environments for children and young people in need

The project is grounded in the belief that every child deserves both practical help and the chance to grow with dignity, hope, and care.

Ways Bridge of Hope Serves

Christmas and Seasonal Giving

Special seasonal efforts, such as Christmas initiatives, help bring warmth, joy, and practical support to children during difficult times.

Home of Hope

Working Directly With the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate

Bridge of Hope works directly with the Sisters Servants of Mary Immaculate in Lviv, Ukraine.

This partnership is central to the project. It means that support is connected to people who know the local needs, are already serving children directly, and can help ensure that assistance reaches those who need it most.

It also reflects something important about this initiative: it is not distant or abstract. It is a relationship of trust, care, and shared mission between the Eparchy and those serving children in Ukraine every day.
