St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in Edmonton is currently seeking qualified candidates for two permanent part‑time positions in our parish office: **Office Administrator (Secretary)** and **Bookkeeper**. These roles support the day‑to‑day pastoral and administrative life of the Cathedral parish, which serves as the seat of the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Edmonton.
**Office Administrator (Secretary) – Part‑Time**
St. Josaphat Cathedral is looking for an experienced Office Administrator to join our parish office team. This permanent part‑time position will begin by mid‑May 2026.
The successful candidate will:
- Be fluent in both English and Ukrainian (spoken and written)
- Have strong computer skills and confidence with standard office software
- Demonstrate a high level of organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment
- Show excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with tact, diplomacy, and respect for confidentiality and privacy
This role supports clergy, parish staff, councils, and parishioners by managing daily office tasks, communication, and basic administrative support.

**Part‑Time Bookkeeper – St. Josaphat Cathedral, Edmonton**
St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral is also seeking an experienced, detail‑oriented, and trustworthy Part‑Time Bookkeeper to join our administrative team. This permanent part‑time position will begin in early June 2026 and plays a vital role in supporting the financial integrity and transparency of our parish community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Accounts payable: Processing invoices, preparing cheques according to signing guidelines, and maintaining accurate financial records
- Payroll and taxes: Processing monthly payroll, remitting source deductions to CRA, and preparing annual T4s and Records of Employment as required
- Donations and banking: Coordinating volunteer collection counters, preparing bank deposits, completing weekly banking, and recording cash and online donations in QuickBooks
- Financial records and reporting: Reconciling bank accounts monthly, preparing reports for the Treasurer and Finance Committee, assisting with annual financial statements for the AGM, and completing required filings such as GST rebates, WCB, and charitable status documentation
Qualifications and skills:
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel
- Experience with payroll and general bookkeeping
- Previous experience in HR is an asset
- Fluency in English required; Ukrainian is an asset
Personal attributes:
- Highly organised and able to work independently
- Able to prioritise tasks in a busy parish office environment
- Strong interpersonal skills, with tact, diplomacy, and respect for confidentiality
- Comfortable working collaboratively with clergy, staff, councils, and volunteers
